陳明律(1932生),聲樂家、音樂教育家。出生於廣東省中山縣。從小在西化家庭長大,喜歡觀賞美國歌舞片,模仿片中的花腔唱段。約1946年,隨身為知名漁業專家的父親陳同白遷居至臺,15歲隨聲樂家林秋錦學習。1950年考入臺灣省立師範學院(今國立臺灣師範大學)音樂學系,其後以第一名畢業,並受聘於臺灣省立交響樂團擔任女高音及歌唱指導,24歲起回母校長年執教。其歌唱特色為花腔自由的運用,許多著名歌曲是由陳明律主唱,例如《阿里山風雲》中的插曲〈高山青〉及周藍萍的〈一朵小花〉等廣為人知。陳明律長年奉獻教職,曾榮獲行政院文化建設委員會頒發六藝獎章,及教育部頒發優良服務獎章。1999年在國家文化藝術基金會的支持下,推出《黃自藝術歌曲》專輯,留下動人美聲。

CHEN Ming-Lü is a vocal performer and music educator. She was born in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province in January 1932. At the age of 15, she began studying vocal music with Lin Chiu-chin. National Taiwan Normal University's music department matriculated Chen in 1950. She graduated with top honors and subsequently served as a soprano and vocal coach for the Taiwan Provincial Symphony. At the age of 24, she began what would become a long and illustrious career as a professor at her alma mater NTNU. She is a talented singer of Chinese folksongs, particularly adept at utilizing a florid, embellished style of singing. Early in her performance career, she became extremely popular for a time, and subsequently many pieces were dedicated to her, such as "Ye Luo Li" and "A Little Flower." After retiring, she recorded numerous albums, which are filled with countless gorgeous songs that are quite touching.
