辛永秀(1939-),聲樂家、歌劇演唱家、中國文化大學教授。出生於臺南的望族世家。1959年赴日本深造,入東京武藏野音樂大學聲樂科,1966年獲碩士學位,1969年學成歸國。旅日期間曾獲第一屆日義競賽第二獎,「紀伊國屋比賽」第一獎,同時考上日本最具規模的歌劇研習所「二期會」,成為正式會員。1970年,獲得日本主辦的國際蝴蝶夫人歌劇演唱大賽第五名,成為歷年來首位獲此殊榮的亞裔歌唱家。多年來除了經常參與國內外的歌劇演出,也積極於美加與東南亞各地推動中國藝術歌曲,並經常參加各類型音樂會演出及擔任國內外各項比賽評審。2012年成立「日文藝術歌曲研究會」以作為新的里程碑。辛永秀有「中國的蝴蝶夫人」之稱,也是第一位國際級的臺灣聲樂家,屹立於樂壇五十餘年的她,至今仍繼續在音樂藝術領域熠熠生輝。

HSIN Yung-Siu (1939-), a famous opera singer and teacher, known as "Chinese Madama Butterfly", was born into a prestigious family of Tainan. In 1959, she studied in the Musashino Academia Musicae and earned her master’s degree in 1966. In Japan, she won second prize of the first Japan-Italy Competition and first prize of the "Kinokuniya Competition", and became the member of Nikikai Opera Studio. In 1970, she won the fifth place in the Madama Butterfly International Concours in Nagasaki, was the first Asian winner. She came back to Taiwan in 1969, active in opera both at home and abroad, and became a keen promoter of Chinese art songs in USA, Canada and Southeast Asia. She was engaged in concerts of different types as a performer and judge, both at home and abroad. In 2012, she organized "Japanese Art Song Seminar". After more than five decades of performing , HSIN Yung-Siu, the first internationally renowned Taiwanese soprano, continues to shine.
