羅基敏(1954生),音樂學家。出生於基隆。輔仁大學織品服裝系理學士(1975),德國海德堡大學音樂學哲學博士(1989),先後於輔仁大學比較文學研究所(1993-2002)及國立臺灣師範大學音樂系(2002-2020)專任,並於2020年自該校退休。研究領域為歐洲音樂史、歌劇研究、音樂美學、文學與音樂、音樂與文化等。學術足跡遍及歐、美、亞洲,經常應邀於國內外專題演講,並於大型國際學術會議發表論文,著有以中、德、英、義等語言發表之近二十本專書及近百篇學術文章,為國內少數具有國際知名度的音樂學者。除學術活動外,她係最早受邀為各式演出導聆、節目單撰文、演出報導及評論的音樂學者,對音樂演出之智性化貢獻良多。

Lo Kii-Ming earned her Bachelor of Natural Sciences in 1975 from the Department of Textile and Clothing at Fu-Jen Catholic University (Taipei) and received her Ph.D. in Musicology in 1989 from Heidelberg University (Germany) for her Ph.D. dissertation “Turandot auf der Opernbühne” (Bern/Frankfurt/New York , Peter Lang, 1994). From 1993 through 2002 she taught as Professor of Musicology at the Graduate Institute of Comparative Literature at Fu-Jen Catholic University, then started to teach as Full Professor of Musicology at the Department of Music of the National Taiwan Normal University (Taipei). Lo Kii-Ming became professor emeritus in February 2020. Lo Kii-Ming’s research covers the history of European music with special focus on the history of opera, the aesthetics of music, the relationship between literature and music, as well as the exchange process between the musical cultures of Europe and Asia. She has given numerous guest lectures and presented papers as invited speaker in musicological and cross-disciplinary conferences in Europe, North America and Asia. As author of 20 books, among them monographic studies on Richard Wagner, Giacomo Puccini, Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss, and as author of ca 100 scholarly articles in Chinese, German, English and Italian, she has become one of the very few Taiwanese musicologists who have gained an international reputation. In addition to her scholary research, Lo Kii-Ming became the very first musicologist in Taiwan who regularly gave pre-concert lectures and who started to write programm notes for opera and concert performances which, although accessible to the large public, live up to the international standards of scholarly research. Thanks to her constant activities in research and publication, Kii-Ming Lo has been able to give a significant contribution to the intellectualization of the world of classical music in Taiwan.
