蘇凡凌(1955生),作曲家。出生於新竹。就讀臺灣省立新竹師範專科學校(今國立清華大學)時,受楊兆禎啟發,學習作曲。1989年畢業於維也納市立音樂學院,2007年獲國立臺北藝術大學藝術博士,師事潘皇龍,為第一位由國內培育之作曲博士。身為客家女,於東方、臺灣本土與歐洲元素之多元文化衝擊之下,淬鍊出她創作的想像力。其作品不僅在國內外經常演出,亦屢獲國內外獎項:奧地利作曲家聯盟作曲比賽首獎的《八卦》、德國曼海姆市之第九屆國際女作曲家作品比賽榮譽獎章《天地人》等作品。2002年國際組織華人女作曲家協會成立,任副主席,2019年任主席,積極參與活動的推展與交流。2012-2017年擔任竹教大人文社會與藝術學院及國立清華大學院長暨教授之身分,在推動國際文化交流上不遺餘力。
SU Fan-Ling, born in 1955 in Hsinchu, Taiwan, studied composition and electronic music at Vienna Municipal Conservatory of Music and the National Vienna Conservatory of Music from 1985 to 1991. In 2001, SU was admitted to study composition under Dr. PAN Huang-Lung at Taipei National University of the Arts in one of the first doctorate programs in Taiwan history, and in 2007 she become Taiwan’s first home-grown doctor of music composition. SU’s musical work, The Eight Trigrams, won Grand Prize at the Union of Austrian Composers Contest and her Heaven, Earth, and Man, was awarded Medal of Honor at the 9-th Female Composers Contest in Mannheim, Germany. She is also a winner of numerous composition awards in Taiwan. Currently, SU teaches at Department of Music of National Hsinchu University of Education and serves as Dean of its College of Liberal Arts.
