陳明律（1932生），聲樂家、音樂教育家。出生於廣東廣州市縣。從小在西化家庭長大，喜歡觀賞美國歌舞片，模仿片中的花腔唱段，靠著天賦及苦練，有「花腔女高音」之美稱。約1946年，隨身為知名漁業專家的父親陳同白遷居至臺，15歲隨聲樂家林秋錦學習。1950年考入臺灣省立師範學院（今國立臺灣師範大學）音樂學系，其後以第一名畢業，並受聘於臺灣省立交響樂團擔任女高音及歌唱指導，24歲起回母校長年執教。其歌唱特色為花腔自由的運用，許多著名歌曲是由陳明律主唱，例如《阿里山風雲》中的插曲〈高山青〉及周藍萍的〈一朵小花〉等廣為人知。陳明律長年奉獻教職，曾榮獲行政院文化建設委員會頒發六藝獎章，及教育部頒發優良服務獎章。1999年在國家文化藝術基金會的支持下，推出《黃自藝術歌曲》專輯，留下動人美聲。

CHEN Ming-lyu (b. 1932) is a vocal artist and music educator. Born in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, Chen Ming-lyu grew up in a westernized household. From a young age, she developed a passion for American musical films and would often imitate the coloratura passages she heard on screen. Through a combination of natural talent and rigorous practice, she earned the reputation of being a premier coloratura soprano. Around 1946, she moved to Taiwan with her father, Chen Tung-pai, a renowned fisheries expert. At the age of 15, she began studying under the vocalist Lin Chiu-chin. In 1950, she was admitted to the Department of Music at Taiwan Provincial Teachers’ College (now National Taiwan Normal University), where she eventually graduated at the top of her class. Following graduation, she was recruited by the Taiwan Provincial Symphony Orchestra to serve as a soprano and vocal coach. At the age of 24, she returned to her alma mater to begin a long and distinguished teaching career. Chen’s singing is characterized by her effortless and fluid use of coloratura. She is the original voice behind many famous songs, most notably "Green High Mountain" from the film Happenings in Alishan and Zhou Lan-ping’s "A Little Flower" Throughout her decades of dedication to music education, she has received numerous accolades, including the Six Arts Medal from the Council for Cultural Affairs and the Meritorious Service Medal from the Ministry of Education. In 1999, with the support of the National Culture and Arts Foundation, she released the album Art Songs of Huang Zi, preserving her moving and beautiful voice for future generations.
