莊進才（1935-2021），北管音樂家。出生於宜蘭冬山鄉。父親莊木土是新樂陞職業北管劇團（冬瓜山班）團員。莊進才的北管人生在父親的影響下，從小在冬瓜山班當起二手鼓，在宜蘭英劇團打銅鑼鈔、頭手鼓。其成長過程中從頭手鼓到文場的吹奏樂器，如鴨母笛、嗩吶、三弦、吊鬼仔等各種樂器吹拉彈打的訓練，也都累積了深厚的底蘊；加上對歌仔戲武場樂曲的熟練，學過傳統絲竹樂（俗稱「漢樂」）；這些技巧都讓他在戲曲界博得「八隻交椅坐透透」的美名，並於1988年成立漢陽北管劇團，2009年被宜蘭縣政府登錄為宜蘭縣無形文化資產，亦獲文化部第一屆、第二屆重要傳統藝術保存團體之榮銜。莊進才曾多年擔任國立臺北藝術大學北管樂師，藝術成就及對後輩的提攜，有目共睹，2016年獲頒第十九屆國家文藝獎，2021年去逝獲蔡英文總統頒贈褒揚令。

CHUANG Jin-Cai (1935-2021) was a distinguished Beiguan musician born in Dongshan Township, Yilan, whose life in music was deeply influenced by his father, Chuang Mu-tu, a member of the Hsin Yueh Sheng professional Beiguan troupe. Starting as a secondary drummer for the Dongshan troupe as a child and later playing gongs and leading percussion for the Yilan Ying Opera Troupe, CHUANG developed profound artistry through rigorous training in both percussion and melodic instruments, including the yamudi (oboe), suona, sanxian, and diaoguizi.
