吳昆仁(1917-2005),著名南管先生。從母姓,人稱「黑狗先」。父親謝曲漢學造詣深,親授其漢學。吳昆仁也隨蔡福安習南管唱曲,後至集斌社拜師,正式接觸南管樂器,師承金池先(人稱「鬍鬚金池」)、點先(泉州石獅人)。17歲曾至高雄旗津清平閣任教一館,並於南聲社活動,後北上參與臺北清華閣、聚賢堂、閩南樂府等館閣活動。22歲經進入遞信部放送局(1939-1946),擔任南管音樂部門負責人,製作現場南管音樂。1958年在江神賜另成立集絃堂時,負責其行政管理。曾任臺北江姓南樂堂、鹿津齋、閩南樂府、基隆閩南第一樂團教職。1985年創立華聲南樂團,每年皆開辦傳習班及成果發表會,受教學生不計其數。1988年,受臺北市國樂團之邀,擔任南管音樂指導老師,1990年獲教育部頒發民族藝術薪傳獎。
WU Kun-Ren was born in Beigang in 1917. His father, Xie Qu, arranged for him to study nanguan singing with the master nanguan vocalist Cai Fu-An, who eventually took him to Ji Fu Ensemble to study, which was when he started formally studying nanguan instruments. He studied the nanguan repertoire with Jin Chi, learning how to play the pi’pa and the erhu. He taught in Kaohsiung and Taipei, and established the Hua Sheng Nanguan Troupe in 1985. Wu was awarded the Ministry of Education’s National Arts Award. He died in 2005.
