鋼琴演奏家、音樂教育家

劉富美(1944)為臺灣鋼琴演奏家,幼年接受古典音樂訓練,就讀國立藝專主修鋼琴、副修理論作曲,以榜首成績完成學業。演奏生涯中曾與多個樂團合作鋼琴協奏曲,亦常與來臺外國音樂家聯演。曾四度受邀擔任義大利、南斯拉夫「歐洲國際鋼琴大賽」評審,並應邀於海外舉行「全場臺灣作品」鋼琴獨奏會,推廣臺灣作曲家作品。婚後定居高雄,長年任教於臺南家專(今臺南應用科技大學)音樂科,培育鋼琴人才。除演奏與教學外,亦積極投入文化公共事務,創辦「高雄市音樂教育學會」並任三屆理事長,參與音樂活動與藝文推廣;亦投入「駁二藝術特區」早期規劃與營運及921地震災後關懷工作。2016年獲教育部「藝術教育貢獻獎」終身成就獎。劉富美長年以來熱心公益,促進藝文生態發展,對南臺灣藝術教育、文化工作推展和社會關懷不遺餘力。

LIU Fu-Mei (b.1944) is a Taiwanese pianist who received classical music training from an early age. She graduated top of her class from the National Taiwan Academy of Arts, majoring in piano with a minor in music theory and composition. Throughout her performance career, she has collaborated with various orchestras in piano concertos and frequently performed with visiting international musicians. She was invited four times to serve as a juror for international piano competitions in Italy and Yugoslavia, and has given overseas recitals featuring exclusively Taiwanese works, promoting Taiwanese composers. After her marriage, she settled in Kaohsiung and taught for many years at the Department of Music of Tainan Junior College (now Tainan University of Technology), where she trained numerous pianists. In addition to performance and teaching, she has been actively involved in cultural and public affairs. She founded the Kaohsiung Music Education Association and served three terms as chair, contributing to music activities and arts promotion. She also participated in the early planning and operation of the Pier-2 Art Center, as well as post-earthquake relief efforts following the 921 earthquake. In 2016, she received the Ministry of Education’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution to Arts Education. Over the years, she has been devoted to public service and has made sustained contributions to arts education, cultural development, and social engagement in southern Taiwan.
