蘇文慶(1958-)，作曲、指揮家。國立臺灣藝術專科學校國樂科(現國立臺灣藝術大學中國音樂學系)第二屆畢業，1979、1981年連續獲教育部文藝創作獎之國樂創作獎，1980年於臺北國父紀念館舉行第一次個人作品專場發表會，並親自擔綱協奏曲當中笙與嗩吶的演奏。1990年獲選為當年度全國十大傑出青年獎。作品風格多樣化，音樂清麗優美、並具豐富的語彙，其戮力於在地文化風格，以音樂呈現臺灣地理、歷史、人文內涵之作，亦卓然有成，著名作品包括協奏曲《雨後庭院》、《燕子》、《綻放》、《行雲流水》，以及國樂合奏曲《牛郎織女》、《詠江南》、《臺灣追想曲》、《風獅爺傳奇》、《故鄉情》、《山海印象》等。除作曲之外，於國樂推展不遺餘力，曾多次擔任文建會文藝季國樂創作聯合發表會製作人，並組「蘇文慶室內樂團」赴美國、加拿大、南美洲、大洋洲、非洲等地巡迴公演，於臺灣國樂的推廣與深耕，貢獻良多。集演奏、指揮、作曲於一身，為國樂界極重要又多產的作曲家之一
Master SU Wen-Qing(1958-), a composer and conductor, graduated from the Department of Chinese Music, the National Taiwan College of Arts (now is the Department of Chinese Music, National Taiwan University of Arts) as the second term graduate. In 1979 and 1981, he consequently won the Chinese Music Creation Prize twice under the category of Literary and Art Creation awarded by the Ministry of Education. His first individual compositions’ concert was held at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, Taipei in 1980, and he personally performed the sheng and the suona in the concerto. He was honored as one of top ten outstanding youths in Taiwan in 1990. Styles of his works are diverse, clear and beautiful, and rich in expression, focusing on local culture illustration combining local geography, history, and humanistic connotations, with warm feedback from the public. Renowned music works of SU include concertos like "The Courtyard after the Rain," "Swallow," "Blooming," and "Flowing Water," as well as Chinese music ensembles like "The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl," "Ode to the South," "Taiwan Reminiscence," "The Legend of the Wind Lion God," "Hometown Love," "Impression of Mountains and Seas," etc. In addition to composing music, he has spared no effort in promoting Chinese music. He ever served as the producer of the Chinese Music Creation Joint Presentation of the Literary and Art Season held by the Ministry of Culture many times, and organized the "SU Wen-Qing Chamber Orchestra," traveling to the United States, Canada, South America, Oceania, Africa, etc., contributing a great deal to promotion and localization of traditional music. He is one of the most important and prolific and productive composers in the field of Chinese music, integrating performance, conducting, and composing competence.
