黃輔棠(1948-),筆名阿鏜、山苗、黃鐘,作曲家、小提琴演奏家,早年在廣州接受專業音樂教育,1976年進入美國肯特州立大學音樂研究所,取得碩士學位。作曲師承華特遜、張己任、盧炎、林聲翕等。曾任國立藝術學院(現臺北藝術大學)小提琴教師兼實驗樂團首席三年。其後在臺南應用科技大學(前臺南家專)任教。音樂作品豐富,種類涵蓋管弦樂、弦樂、鋼琴、合唱、獨唱、宗教音樂,歌劇等。作曲之初身居美國,與臺灣主流幾番現代音樂旋風無關,跳脫學院主流派的音樂風格,呈現了較多古典與浪漫氣息。歌劇《西施》2011年曾在全臺各地連演八場,創了本土大型歌劇在臺灣演出場次最多的紀錄。CD專輯「神雕俠侶交響樂」於2006年入圍金曲獎最佳古典專輯、作曲、製作人等三項獎項。除作曲之外,於小提琴演奏、教學、音樂評論、著述、指揮等方面亦卓然有成。
Wong Fu-Tong (1948-), pen name Ah Tong, Shan Miao, Huang Zhong, composer and violinist, received professional music education in Guangzhou in his early years, and entered the Graduate School of Music of Kent State University in the United States in 1976 and obtained a master's degree. The composers are Walter Watson, Zhang Jiren, Lu Yan, Lin Shengxi, etc. He was a violin teacher and the principal of the experimental orchestra at the National Academy of Arts (now Taipei University of the Arts) for three years. After that, he taught at Tainan University of Applied Science and Technology (Tainan University of Science and Technology). His music works are rich, including orchestral, string, piano, chorus, solo, religious music, opera, etc. At the beginning of the composition, he lived in the United States, and has nothing to do with the mainstream modern music whirlwinds in Taiwan. He jumped out of the mainstream music style of the academy and presented more classical and romantic atmosphere. In 2011, the opera "Xishi" was performed in eight consecutive performances across Taiwan, setting a record for the most performances of a local large-scale opera in Taiwan. The CD album "Symphony of Condor Heroes" was nominated for the Golden Melody Award for Best Classical Album, Composer and Producer in 2006. In addition to composing, he is also very successful in violin performance, teaching, music criticism, writing, and conducting.
