陳樹熙(1957),指揮家、作曲家。1972年開始隨林運玲學習鋼琴,1979年畢業於國立臺灣大學外文系,1982年考取國立維也納音樂學院,取得指揮與作曲雙文憑。1985年返臺後,歷任國家音樂廳交響樂團助理指揮、臺灣省立交響樂團(今國立臺灣交響樂團)副指揮、副團長,高雄市交響樂團團長(1999至2007年)等工作。之後再出任臺北市立交響樂團副團長、國立臺灣交響樂團副團長等要職,並於2016年接掌臺北市立交響樂團團長,帶領樂團推動教育推廣、跨界合作與品牌再造,奠定該團在臺灣公立樂團行政領域的重要地位。 2012年起任教於國立臺南藝術大學應用音樂學系,歷任副教授、教授與多屆系主任,並於此期間推動流行音樂與應用音樂相關學程的建立,於2025年自教授職退休。退休後仍持續透過評論與廣播節目(如:2025年製作主持愛樂廣播電台 Music Insights, Inside Music)參與公共音樂教育與文化論述。其創作橫跨交響、室內樂、國樂、舞劇與大型委託作品,並長期致力於作曲、指揮、藝術行政與音樂評論。陳樹熙在臺灣樂壇以兼具創作與行政專業的多元角色著稱,對樂團營運與音樂文化推廣皆有顯著貢獻。

CHEN Shu-Hsi (b. 1957) is a conductor and composer. He began piano studies with Lin Yun-ling in 1972 and graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Taiwan University in 1979. In 1982, he entered the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he earned diplomas in both conducting and composition. After returning to Taiwan in 1985, he served as Assistant Conductor of the National Concert Hall Symphony Orchestra, later becoming Associate Conductor and Deputy Director of the Taiwan Provincial Symphony Orchestra (now the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra). From 1999 to 2007, he was General Director of the Kaohsiung City Symphony Orchestra. He subsequently held senior administrative posts including Deputy Director of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra and Deputy Director of the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, and in 2016 was appointed Director (General Manager) of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra. During his tenure he advanced the orchestra’s educational outreach, interdisciplinary collaborations, and brand development, establishing his position as a key figure in the administration of Taiwan’s public orchestras. Since 2012, Chen has taught at the Department of Applied Music at the Tainan National University of the Arts, serving successively as Associate Professor, Professor, and multiple-term Department Chair. During this period, he contributed significantly to the establishment of curricula in popular and applied music. He retired from his professorship in 2025, yet continues to engage in public music education and cultural commentary, including producing and hosting the classical music program Music Insights, Inside Music on Phil Classical Radio in 2025. His creative work spans symphonic, chamber, Chinese instrumental, and dance-theater compositions, alongside numerous commissioned works. Renowned for his multifaceted roles as composer, conductor, administrator, and critic, Chen has made substantial contributions to orchestral management and the broader musical culture of Taiwan.
