陳茂生（1942）出生於新竹市，是一位音樂家、管風琴演奏家。自幼成長於教會，曾隨徐頌仁學習鋼琴。大學畢業後赴美，先後獲奧斯伯利及美南浸信會神學院宗教藝術碩士及音樂碩士，主修管風琴，亦於博士班專攻合唱指揮。學成回臺後，擔任臺灣神學院（今臺灣神學研究院）教會音樂系主任。1977年，該院獲美國長老會駐台宣教士施麥哲（Rev.Stanley Smathers）牧師捐贈管風琴後，陳茂生積極教導學生，舉行示範音樂會、廣開管風琴課程。1985 年，應教育部聘任為國家音樂廳管風琴之設計及裝置顧問。1986-1991 年，為該廳策劃每年兩場管風琴演奏會，廣邀歐美名家演出。他更編譯世界各國基督教聖歌合唱作品，至2026年已出版超過250冊，嘉惠教會詩班。2005年退休定居美國，仍活躍於美國教會、管風琴界，曾擔任路城華人基督教會音樂總監13年之久，現仍為美國人及臺灣人教會擔任管風琴師。陳茂生為臺灣推廣管風琴音樂先驅，對基督教聖樂發展貢獻卓越。

CHEN Maw-sheng (b.1942) in Hsinchu, Taiwan, is a church musician and organist with a life-long connection with church and organ music in Taiwan. Chen grew up with church music and once studied the piano from Professor Hsu Sung-jen. He went for postgraduate studies in the USA, where he received his Master of Art in Religion and Master of Church Music, majoring in pipe organ and also Emphasis in choral conducting, and then came back to serve as Director of Department of church Music, Taiwan Theological College and Seminary. Chen has given numerous pipe organ classes and worked proactively on arranging and translating sacred choral music from around the world, which resulted in the publication of a series of 250-plus volumes of choral music by Glory Music and Grace Music, thereby making outstanding contributions to the development of pipe organ and Christian sacred music in Taiwan.
