吳榮順（1955），民族音樂學者。出生於花蓮縣玉里鎮客家家庭。國立臺灣師範大學音樂學系求學期間，深受許常惠影響，1995年獲得巴黎第十大學民族音樂學博士。吳榮順在研究上，除了受到法國人類學研究方法的嚴格訓練和要求，更重視田野調查和音樂採集工作，親自記錄臺灣最珍貴的聲音。1991-2008年間為風潮唱片發表約30張民族音樂專輯，其中《美濃人美濃歌－客家山歌．八音現場紀實》於1998年獲得第九屆金曲獎非流行音樂類最佳唱片製作人獎；為國立傳統藝術中心主持「南部客家八音紀實系列出版計劃」等，共出版了48片CD，成果豐碩；2024年以《聽到噠仔聲就知庄中有大事》客家八音專輯6CD，榮獲第33屆傳藝金曲獎最佳專輯製作人獎。在行政上，曾任國立臺北藝術大學音樂學系專任教授、傳統音樂學系系主任、音樂學院院長，2016-2018年擔任國立傳統藝術中心主任，對於民族音樂學領域付出，貢獻良多，並於2026-2029擔任國家表演藝術中心董事。
WU Rung-Shun, (b. 1955) is a Taiwanese ethnomusicologist born in Yuli Township, Hualien County, into a Hakka family. He studied in the Department of Music at National Taiwan Normal University, where he was profoundly influenced by Dr. Hsu Tsang-houei, and later earned a Ph.D. in ethnomusicology from Paris Nanterre University in 1995. Trained under the rigorous methodologies of French anthropology, Wu places strong emphasis on fieldwork and music collection, dedicating himself to documenting Taiwan’s invaluable sound heritage. From 1991 to 2008, Wu produced around thirty ethnomusicological albums for Wind Music International. Among them, Meinong People, Meinong Songs: Live Documentation of Hakka Mountain Songs and Bayin won the Best Producer Award (Non-Popular Music Category) at the 9th Golden Melody Awards in 1998. He also directed the documentary publication project Southern Hakka Bayin Documentation Series for the National Center for Traditional Arts, resulting in the release of forty-eight CDs. In 2024, his six-CD Hakka Bayin album Hearing the Dazi Sound Means Something Important Has Happened in the Village received the Best Album Producer Award at the 33rd Traditional Arts Golden Melody Awards. In academic administration, Wu served as Professor in the Department of Music, Chair of the Department of Traditional Music, and Dean of the School of Music at Taipei National University of the Arts. He was Director of the National Center for Traditional Arts from 2016 to 2018, making significant contributions to the development of ethnomusicology in Taiwan. From 2026 to 2029, he serves as a board member of the National Performing Arts Center.
