林道生 LIN Ddo-Sheng 作曲家、民族音樂學者 返回

1934年出生於彰化市,臺灣著名作曲家及原住民研究學者,現居花蓮縣吉安鄉勝安村。小學接受的是日本教育,1947年6月小學畢業後,考入全公費省立花蓮師範學校四年制簡易師範科。在校期間,因緣際會,養成了對原住民音樂的濃厚興趣,開啟畢生的原住民音樂創作及研究之路。由於家境清寒,無傲人學歷,所有音樂相關能力,皆靠不斷自學與進修而來,自1951年擔任小學校師至1999年自大學教授退休,從事教職工作長達48年;自1956年至今創作不輟,譜曲超過八百首,包含各類歌曲、演奏曲、及中、西樂曲;1989年開始致力於原住民音樂的調查與創作,至今樂此不疲。

LIN Ddo-Sheng, born in Changhua in 1934, is a Taiwanese composer and an indigenous studies scholar. LIN attended Japanese elementary school in Taiwan and completed his primary study in June, 1947. He soon was adimited with full scholarship to Hualien Teachers' Junior College. There he developed his interest in indigenous music and initiated his composing and researching life of indigenous music. From a family not able to provide sufficient financial support, LIN taught himself how to compose. From 1951 to 1999, he has served at the elementary school and then at the university for 48 years in total. In addition, he has composed more than 800 pieces in various genres, such as vocal music, instrumental music, Chinese music, and Western music, since 1956. Since 1989 he has fully dedicated himself to composing of and researching in indigenous music. LIN currently resides in Shangan Village of Ji’an Township, Hualien.
